Just when I thought I had this whole internet thing figured out.?

Specially with getting bold enough to Instant Message strangers,and speaking out in chat rooms.Or,better yet really "Speaking Out" in sights like paltalk. I am introduced to a whole 'nother side of the World Wide Web....called IRC....It seems like another world. Any thoughts on this? And how long did it take you to master it?
