Amp shuts off when subs turned up to loud?

I have a 2004 dodge stratus and i hooked up my subs up to my stock 4 disc cd changer its infinity which is why i kept it i used one of those little boxes that turns the speaker wires into the rca kind that plugs up to the amp. I have 2 12 inch audiobahn subs and a profile amp. The subs worked great for over a year until recently when they started cutting out when i turned them up to loud. i tried to fix it and and blew a fuse. I replaced the fuse and the radio works fine i can turn it up as loud as i want but the amp turns of and my subs stop hitting when i turn it up loud the amp will turn on and of along with my subs throughout a song. they just wont stay on. i have temporally took of the remote wire so i don't blow anything.
